Dressing Up for Raya

During the first few days of Raya, Muslims in Malaysia will customarily wear traditional Malay costumes. Men will wear Baju Melayu while women either the Baju Kurung or Baju Kebaya. These costumes are usually made with the best of materials, possibly the best out of other costumes that can be found in their closets. They'll also strive to look their best (with extra effort in putting on makeup for instance!).

Religious Rites throughout the Day

In the morning, Muslims will attend the Aidilfitri prayers at the mosque. On top of the merits to be earned from the prayers, this is an opportunity for them to congregate harmoniously and meet each other. Once the prayers are done, they'll head home for the Hari Raya family feast. Thereafter, Muslims will commonly visit the graves of their loved ones, bestowing upon them gifts in the form of Quran recitals and tahlil (prayers).
