Established in 1996, Alexis is a casual and comfortable place to dine. A more Bohemian approach prevails where presentation and service is concerned. Decoration is minimal in this casual and unpretentious outlet. This newly opened outlet caters to shoppers and a breakfast menu is available from 9am to 12pm. As expected, the lunch and dinner menu features big helpings of designer food for the city's growing cappuccino class. Although the menu, which features an equal mix of Asian and Western cuisine changes regularly, the specialities remain. Favourites include the Sarawak Laksa, Beef Lasagne, Chicken Rice and Alexis dips. Pasta is featured prominently here as well. The desserts, which include pastries and cakes are a must try while the freshly brewed coffee is simply wonderful.

Based on a chain of popular steakhouses in South America, Maredo's prides itself as being the first and only Argentine conceptualised steakhouse in Malaysia. The restaurant also has a bar area that enjoys a captivating view of the KLCC. As expected, Argentinean steaks are offered and there are plenty to choose from the selections of appetisers, soups, salads, mains and desserts. Popular starters include ensalada de carne de vaca which is extravagant entrée consisting of marinated beef with roasted capsicum herb Chimichurri, garlic bread and Manchego cheese. A popular selection of mains is the Argentina Pueblo Steak which is grilled tenderloin with Chimichurri Vinaigrette sauce served with wild mushrooms and steak fries. Although Maredo's has a good selection of steaks, it still has white meat and seafood like the Aves which is grilled chicken breast with mashed potato and the oven-baked snapper garnished with mussels and scallops. Cap off the meals with two highly recommended desserts, the El Helado y el Chocolate and the Chocolate Ganache and vanilla ice cream.

Mojo is yet another venue in an area spoilt for choice, and always fun for a night on the tiles in proper style. Those who wish to hang out at the bar or lounge around on trendy sofas can do so downstairs while upstairs, the dining hall consists of plush booths or intimate dining. The al fresco seating area upstairs is perfect for watching the action on the streets below. The creative team in the kitchen serves up a range of Italian, Western and Oriental fare all perfect for lunches and dinners. Specialities include mini Vietnamese spring rolls served with a homemade sauce, crispy duck with plum sauce and pan-fried duck breast with orange sauce. Western selections include barbeques lamb ribs and a fusion attempt at tiramisu with an oriental twist - pandan.

A Mediterranean inspired interior with checked cushioned seats create a cosy yet bright atmosphere. Formerly a fine dining outlet, it is now more of a bistro serving bistro and grill dishes. Featuring Mediterranean and Western fare, it also serves a good selection of steaks. T-hone, sirloin, tenderloin and rib-eye steaks, each comes either roasted, fried or baked potatoes and with seasonal vegetables. Mediterranean fare includes deep fried crispy calamari seasoned with Italian herbs. A house specialty is the chicken souvlaki which is skewered marinated medallions of chicken on pita bread served with roasted new potatoes and sweet onion sauce. A good selection in the desert section and highly recommended is the tropical fruit salsa which is fruit filled crepes.

Described as a 'happening' nightspot and a hangout for trendy yuppies, this bistro and fun pub is fast becoming popular among locals and tourists. Hawaiian in theme and aptly named 'Ohana' (Family), the décor is calming and inspired by the languid lifestyle found in the islands. The menu features a range of Western and local items with emphasis on island cuisines. There is quite a lot to choose from the selections for appetisers, soups, salads, mains of meat and seafood and desserts. Recommended dishes include selections of Hawaiian seafood platters, Prawn Pil Pil, and Panfried Johndory served with pineapple sauce. The bar section is ideal for pre-dinner or after-dinner drinks with its range of cocktails and liquor.

Judging by its name, this is not surprisingly, a tropical themed restaurant and bar. The front yard is reserved for dining and offers an al-fresco environment incorporating tree trunks, bamboo and other jungle paraphernalia. Lighting, water features and flaming torches further enhance the theme. The menu offers hearty local fusion fare with a wide range of exotic sounding appetisers, soups, salads, mains with plenty of seafood and desserts. Local fusion with hints of tribal fare includes the Asian paella, or the head hunter's gift - marinated chicken with Asian vegetables. There is also a range of barbequed or grilled items.

Opened in June 2005, the Cotton Club is modern and spacious and where good food, innovative cocktails, exclusive Cuban Cigars and Swinging Jazz Music meet under one roof. The menu, which is changed every three months features a range of western contemporary cuisine. There is plenty to choose from the selections of appetisers, soups, salads, mains of meat and seafood and desserts. Set lunches are light and satisfying; ending on a sweet note with superb desserts that are not overly sweet all prepared by resident Chef Farid. Must-tries include signature dishes such as Cherry Tomatoes and Mint Leaf Salad or the Cool Jazz Prawns with Avocado for appetisers. As for the main courses, recommended dishes include the Grilled Spring Chicken, Grilled Lamb Loin or Swing Scallops and Prawns. Not to be missed are the Bread Fruit Pudding and Banana Crumble for dessert. Guests can linger in the restaurant's warm ambiance and soft jazz music while having dinner. This will guests up in the mood for a night of live swingin' jazz music played by the resident band from 10pm onwards.
